In the Room
On my step in to the one bedroom villa, my first word was wow, the value for the money great, the room was very nice, bigger than a normal hotel rooom and a second room with family, full kitchen, table another Flat tv, was amazing for the money. My villa was on the back, hoewver it does have a ocen view. The morning was spectacular and the balcony is like 25-30ft long by 7ft wide. In other words, I will not stay in any other hotel in St. Thomas besides Bluebeards Castle by now.
At the beginning of my conversation with check-in personnel, they were a little unfriendly, then I explained that my questions are to know more about the hotel and to return with my wife and kids and they change the attitute and did cooperate more. I beleive is a cultural behaviour.
very clean, very nice grounds and rooms.Desk Hotel staff not very friendly.

Wow! I can"t describe how much we enjoyed our stay! We only wish it was longer. I can't think of anything that I would change. The room was amazing, we keep wandering why we got so lucky to get such a nice room. We ate at the Banana Leaf restaurant for dinner and had a fabulous meal! All was perfect, thank you for having this property. We will be using you again soon! All the best, Denise Weeks-Anglin
The facility was a welcome resting place along the way on our trip from Tortola to Orlando via the airport at Charlotte Amalie. Clean, quiet rooms with an excellent view of the harbour. a nice pool and a really enjoyable restaurant with well prepared and served food. We spoiled ourselves and Bluebeard's staff helped us to do it.
Great price, good location, very clean facility, lovely view from our room and pool
Food at poolside cafe was awful. This is not run by thr castle but by a concession. Service at cafe good, food was not,
Great place to stay. Room was spacious, clean, had a nice kitchen, comfortable bed and great view. The staff was friendly. Being a Monday, the bar was the only restaurant open, but the food was good.
It's on top of a hill overlooking the harbor and is a good walk to stores and other restaurants. Unless you are reasonably fit and enjoy a brisk walk, you will need to rent a car or expect to use a taxi to go to "town".
Incredible value for money! I had to spend one night in Charlotte Amalie before going sailing, so I was just looking for the cheapest place I could find that wasn't completely sketchy. I booked a suite at Bluebeard's for $128 on 2 days notice. I was completely blown away when I stepped into my newly-renovated 2-room suite, complete with 2 bathrooms, gigantic balcony, incredible bay view, kitchen, and fold-out couch for hosting additional people. Completely exceeded my expectations.
As other people commented, it's on top of a hill and not convenient to anything. The the side of Charlotte Amalie behind Bluebeard's down by the cruise terminal has some housing projects, but security at the hotel is good and if you stay on the hotel campus you won't feel unsafe. The staff are a bit sluggish, but that's typical for the Virgin Islands, and you can't expect to find good service outside of the airport or the high- end resorts, so don't expect to do much better at other hotels (I also stayed at Windward Passage).
It was friendly and luxurious for the price. Good value. Walking distance to town center. Great views from room. Quiet and comfortable. Convenient to have restaurants on site and extra amenities such as pool and bars.
Large clean rooms, great View, reasonable rate, great resaurants
85 steps up from room to get to lobby. No free wifi, 7$ day from each device. :/ a lot of renovation going on.
The location was great, walking distance to St. Thomas and shops. The room was super, spacious with balcony overlooking a bay, very comfortable.
A one day layover on the way to Tortola. Was very nice & the restraunt excellent
Gorgeous views, very good meal, excellent value money
The front desk service was unpleasant.
close to downtown, reasonable price, good location and sea view
We stayed in a 1 bdr suite and it was incredibly spacious and nicely renovated. We only stayed one night prior to bareboat sailing vacation, but next time we'll definitely stay a few nights. Very friendly desk clerk, even though we arrived after 10 P.M. on a Friday.
It's a steep, hot hike up to hotel from town
The room was very nice and spacious. It also had a great view of the harbor with a huge balcony with table, chairs and lounge chairs, I liked how there was a full kitchen and separate dining room, living room with sofa and coffee table, and bedroom. All the rooms were good sizes. It was also quiet and private, especially when going out on the balcony.
I didn't care for Bluebeards Castle's lackadaisical approach to customer service. Although I liked the room, the poor service ruined the stay for me. When I told the front desk about problems, they had a bad attitude about them and didn't even do anything about them although they acted as if they were going to take care of it. For that reason, this affected my stay since these things, such as the electricity, which went out, and phone, which never worked, were not fixed. This unacceptable at any hotel.
